As October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, on Thursday October 12th Caprice Cafe will host a very special Dinner ‘Dine in Pink’; in aid of Breast Cancer Research, to help raise funds in support of the Galway based charity who fund a comprehensive breast cancer research programme at the Lambe Institute for Translation Research, NUI Galway, headed-up by Prof. Micael Kerin.

Guests on the night will be treated to a sparkling reception followed by a delicious dinner with music fun and lots of spot prizes. All proceeds raised on the night will go to Breast Cancer Research.

A Celebration of Italian Food and Wine at Caprice

If you are a lover of Italian food and wine then you better clear your calendar on Thursday May 11th at 7:30pm and get reservations for a celebration of Italian food at Caprice Cafe with Italian Food Consultant Max Merli of Italicatessen, Ireland’s leading import and distributor of quality Italian produce.

Max will introduce you to the foods and wines of Italy, showing how dishes are prepared and what wines work with each and why. Everyone attending will enjoy a three course authentic Italian meal with a wine pairing of Italian wine for every course, specially selected by Max.

It’s Here! Welcome Skinny Prosecco

Skinny Prosecco is now available at Caprice Cafe, Galway. Hailing from Soligo in Italy’s Treviso province, Skinny Prosecco also has less than half the sugar content of a standard glass of normal Prosecco, with the added benefits of being organic and vegan-friendly. The new beverage, created by Amanda Thomson of the UK-based company Thomson & Scott, has just 67 calories per 100ml, less than a banana and just 7g of sugar a litre. “We’re all obsessed with the new war on sugar. I was raised on a sugar-free diet by my mother and now 40 years later, it’s finally being recognised. Galway’s chicest new eatery, Caprice Cafe, is wowing Galwegians and visitors with its delicious dishes served in beautiful surroundings. Located at the corner of Church Lane and Market Street, ‘Caprice’, which means sudden change of mood, has certainly added to the vibrancy of the area. It is a 16-year dream come true for owners Vicky and John Casey, after years running John’s local family business, KC Blake’s Brasserie, with his father Bernie Casey.
Speaking at the launch, Vicky said: “After 16 years together, my husband John and I have finally created our dream café in the heart of Galway City. Our food is fresh, cooked to order and sourced locally.” She went on to say: “Although we are a new Café to Galway, we are focused on creating a great, passionate team, delivering the best food, and both of us are delighted to be able to generate employment locally while promoting Irish suppliers.” (more…)
